The designs for currency notes of Rs 20 and 5,000 were approved by the government on Friday. The Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz presided over the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on the design of currency notes. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, Senator Sharifuddin Pirzada, Governor State Bank Dr Ishrat Hussain and other senior officers.

Different designs of the notes were presented by the Printing Corporation of Pakistan Chairman and the Committee approved one of the designs for printing Rs 20 and 5000 currency notes.
